Defensins form a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. This gene encodes defensin, beta 4, an antibiotic peptide which is locally regulated by inflammation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Function: Has bactericidal activity. Subcellular Location: Secreted. Tissue Specificity: Kidney, uterus and to a lesser extent in heart. Similarity: Belongs to the beta-defensin family. Database links: Entrez Gene: 13215 Mouse 防御素在人體中廣泛分布的，目前已知的α－防御素有6種，研究人員從人體的腎臟、氣管、鼻粘膜與唾液中也發現了兩種β防御素，在許多器官的上皮細胞與非上皮組織的細胞中發現了β－防御素。 Defensin β2在維持機體天然免疫功能、介導炎癥反應以及調節特異性免疫中的作用引起人們的重視，防御素的表達與病原體的入侵緊密相關。 |

Antigen retrieval: citrate buffer ( 0.01M, pH 6.0 ), Boiling bathing for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% Hydrogen peroxide for 30min; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum,C-0005) at 37℃ for 20 min;
Incubation: Anti-Defensin-beta2/DEFB2/HBD-2 Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated(bs-1295R) 1:200, overnight at 4°C, followed by conjugation to the secondary antibody(SP-0023) and DAB(C-0010) staining
